Repeaters & Radio in Hartlepool
Hartlepool and the surrounding area have several repeaters and active frequencies that our members use every day. Whether you’re a new operator or returning to the hobby, this page will help you get connected and on the air.
Our Club
M0IDZ is the official call sign of Hartlepool Amateur Radio Club. We use it for club activities, demonstrations, field days, and special events. Usually on air we will add the permitted regional secondary locator for club stations in England, X, so you’ll usually hear us as MX0IDZ. For special event stations we will often use a special call sign, and in the case of annual events we will try to use the same one each year. For example

Equipment
We have two main stations set up which can be operated simultaneously. Each is linked to a PC giving us QRZ logging, SSTV, FT8 and other digital modes.
Station 1 – Yaesu FT991A 100W all band radio, usually connected to Diamond V2000 6/2/70 tri-band vertical for VHF or an end-fed wire for HF
Station 2 – Yaesu FT2000D at 200W connected to an end-fed wire antenna for HF
For special event stations like JOTA we have use of several large masts, like the venerable Clark SCAM 12m, and a Hy-Gain TH3 tri-band beam for 20/15/10m bands. These masts allow us to erect larger wire antennas than would be practical to have in situ at all times.
