Finely the rain stopped and a decission was made to go ahead with our planned outdoor club night at the BBOB Rugby Club Ground on Hartlepool Headland.
An HF station was quickly put up using Charles’s well proven “super HF antenna” and using his HF rig we where soon on the air making contacts on 40, 15, 20 and 80 metres. No great DX was worked but, some good POTA to POTA contacts where made.
One good contact was with Stevenage ARC who also meet on a Friday evening and we passed 59+10 signal reports both ways.
Simon set up and ran a station on 145 and 433 and made a few local contacts.
Club Chairman Tom arrived a little later and was soon active on 40 metres making some good contacts including Japan, not bad for 40 metres.
Club members as always enjoyed the general chat as can be seen from the photos. Fortunately Buster, Fred’s dog kept us all in place.
